Anger is only one letter short of danger.
Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.
He, who loses money, loses much; He, who loses a friend, loses much more; He, who loses faith, loses all.
Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

CHICKEN N EGG DEBATE
Read this article yesterday in the forum section of the TODAY paper. It wrote that the service quality in Singapore has been deterioting and that many people seem to play the waiting game -insisting the service staff will be polite only if the customers are and vice versa. Personally i've encountered many rude service staff in shops and in eateries. I think it isn't easy to change the mentality of these staff....Some advocate using monetary incentives to entice them to be more courteous, i think thats lame and aritifical...wouldn't it so fake? I think it is more important to make it a country wide culture....Not only should Singapore be known as a Garden City, maybe we could thrive towards a Polite City.... As Singapore is moving to an increasing global society, to remain competitive, no doubt monetary rewards can move people towards better service but should that be our sole motivation at work. I'm sure there is much individual satifaction derived from a job well done and a thank you smile in return for your efforts.

绝对Superstar
Yesterday nite was the last semi-finals of Singapore's very own Chinese Idol search. Next week would be the finals where 2 male and 2 female contestants would compete. Yesterday was sad for the contestant Wei Jian. He even cried singing his departure song to all his fans......it was so touching....i cried too (sob sob)...I think Wei lian shouldn't be in the finals...how can they let a blind man even win a idols competition. Wouldn't think his albums would sell well.....for one he wouldn't even recognise his fans....not that i'm basis and have any thing against disabled people.....cause even myself aint perfect.....but i think we need to be pracmatic about this......its a music business....FACE IT!
Well on the brighter side Jun yang managed to get to the finals! He's soo cool.. I love his voice and his cute smile...Well i hope he wins! I know Maryse u would want Wei lian to win....But i support JUN YANG! Go Go Go =P

Chasing after the Wind
All of us go through life only once, so it's important to do what matters and what counts for eternity. As author Phillip C. McGraw wrote in his book "Life Strategies : Doing what works, doing what matters" it is important to understand yourself and do identify your strengths and weaknesses. Constantly building on our strengths and correcting our weaknesses. Life is dynamic and hence we need to be dynamic as well. We learn to take charge of our lives rather than complain all the time that life has been unfair to you.
Life Law #1 : You either get it or you don't
Strategy :Become one of those who gets it
Life Law #2 : You create your own experience.
Strategy :Acknowlege and accept accountability for your life.
Life Law #3: People do what works.
Strategy:Identify the payoffs that drive your behaviour and that of others
Life Law #4 : You cannot change what you do not acknowlege.
Strategy : Get real with yourself about life and everybody in it.
Life Law #5 : Life rewards action.
Strategy : Make careful decisios and then pull the trigger
Life Law #6 : There is no reality; only perception.
Strategy : Identify the filters through which you view the world.
Life Law #7 : Life is managed; it is not cured.
Strategy : Learn to take charge of your life.
Life Law #8 : We teach people how to treat us.
Strategy : Own, rather than complain, about how people treat you.
Life Law #9 : There is power in forgiveness.
Strategy : Open your eyes to what anger and resentment are doing to you.
Life Law #10 : You have to name it before you can claim it.
Strategy : Get clear what you want and take your turn
